We had our Healthy Heart Valentine's Brunch Party (it was brunch due to our 2 hour delay). The favorite food by far was the fruit salad - you can't get healthier than than. We also had cheese and crackers (very popular), assorted muffins and fruit, and pretzels. It was just right. Then the kids passed out their Valentines which is always exciting, and we all opened them at the same time:
The kids and I partnered up to interview each other and then used that information to write Friendship Cinquains.
Since we have an odd number in our class, I got to be interviewed by our Line Leader, Cameron. Then I interviewed him, and we made these adorable poems which are now hanging in the hallway.

After reading Snowmen at Night, the kids composed their own versions of the story. This week we have sharing those stories on the rug.
I love when the kids get creative and artistic!
Last week I started my RETELL/ ESL class which you have to take in Massachusetts in order to renew your certification. We all have homework - reading 3 articles, watching a video, writing a paper,....It's a good thing I'm on vacation so I'll have time to do my homework.
Happy Valentine's Day!
The hearts came out adorable!

The heart poems are adorable... I may have to try to fit that in with my kiddos! They are loving poetry. Your post is the second now that I've read about a heart healthy meal for V-day... I think that it's a great idea, and I want to do something like that next year. We at way way way too much sugar yesterday! EEK! Have a great weekend.
